WILD & SCENIC SOLSTICE

Celebrate Vermont's Wild & Scenic Rivers on the Summer Solstice!
June 20th, 2021

Make the most of the longest day of the year by exploring our Wild & Scenic Upper Missisquoi and Trout Rivers!

Choose your own adventures or join us for guided activities in local parks along the water.

Make sure to submit your checklist at the end of the day to be entered in our raffle to win great prizes!

Activity Stations: from 10am to 2pm you can find us at Davis Park in Richford, Riverwalk Park in Montgomery, and Big Falls in Troy. Each of these locations will have an information table with maps and resources where you can learn more about our Wild and Scenic Rivers, play games and make DIY crafts, and participate in the following guided activities!* 

  • Davis Park Activity Station: Intro to Canoeing - Learn some basic paddling skills! Classes run every half hour from 10am-2pm.

  • Riverwalk Park Activity Station: Let's Go Fishing! - Learn about fish identification, fishing laws and ethics, lure making and casting, and backyard bass fishing. Classes run every hour from 10am-2pm, limit 15 per class.

  • Big Falls State Park Activity Station: Bugworks! - Learn how to find and identify benthic macroinvertebrates and what they can tell us about water quality. Come anytime between 10 and 2 and join Mr. K in the river!

Photos must be taken on 6/20/21 along the Wild & Scenic Upper Missisquoi and Trout Rivers.
